Coca Cola, it is one of the most famous beverages known throughout the world but did you know that Coca Cola is also one of the best cleaning solutions for a janitorial service to have in their arsenal of cleaning supplies?
Here are just a few of the many ways that a can of Coca Cola can be used to help make certain cleaning situations much easier.
Hard Water Stains:
Sinks can be stained by hard water or various other substances that you may have dumped down your drain.
Even if it is stainless steel it can be quite a hassle to get rid of the water stains, especially around the drain area.
If you are struggling with a water stain in your sink just plug the drain and fill up the sink until the stain is fully submerged in coke.
Let it soak for about an hour or longer, depending on how tough the stain is, and then drain the sink and give it a good scrub using a steel wool or microfiber cloth.
Rust Removal:
The phosphoric acid and carbon dioxide found in a can of Coca Cola makes it a great solution for cleaning rust off of metal objects.
For small objects just fill a container with Coke and fully submerge your rusty object and let it soak for several hours.
Afterwards, just rinse and dry the object with a microfiber cloth.
For large objects fill a container with Coke and submerge as much of the rusty object as you can and let soak for a few hours.
If there are any certain parts of the item that could not be submerged, dip your steel wool into the coca cola and give the rusty metal a good scrub followed by rinsing the item off and drying it.
* If the item is chrome, do not use a steel wool on it.
Grout and Tiles:
For those hard to remove stains on your grout and tiles, simply pour enough coca cola to cover the area and let it sit for a few minutes.
* Do not leave the coca-cola long enough for it to dry.
Once it has soaked for a few minutes, grab a green scouring pad and some water and scrub the coca cola completely off the tiles.
Now you know about the secret cleaning solution that can easily be bought in any grocery store that you can use to clean various items plus you can use to quench your thirst on these hot summer days.
