After removing a carpet from your concrete floor you will find bits of flooring adhesive underneath which was originally used to hold the carpet in place.
If you plan on leaving the concrete floor bare then you will need to remove the glue as dirt tends to stick to it.
We will show you an eco-friendly solution you can use to remove the carpet glue.
What will you need?

- Push Broom
- Cooking Pot
- Water
- Pot Holder
- Rain Boots
- Safety Eye Goggles
- Vacuum
If there are any carpet remnants left on your floor, scrape it off using a heavy-duty scraper, try to take off as much as possible.
Use the push broom to sweep away any remnant carpeting that you managed to scrape off.
After that boil some water in the cooking pot, we suggest using a large enough pot so you can remove as much carpet glue at once as you can.
Once the water has come to a boil, pour the hot water over the areas that have carpet glue.
Be sure to use rain boots and long thick jeans to help protect your feet and legs and the goggles to protect your eyes in case of accidental splatter on your face.
Leave the boiling water to remain on the glue for 5 to 10 minutes in order for the glue to soften and turn pliable.
After that, scrape off whatever carpet glue is left using the same heavy-duty scraper.
If you have a bad back you can use a garden hoe to do this easier.
Remove any excess water and dry the floor then give the floor a good sweeping to remove the chunks of glue that you removed.
Finally take out the vacuum and suck up any small pieces and dust that you may not be able to sweep up.
